The Royal Cambridge Hotel has contributed in raising more than £13,000 for charity in the Arthur Rank Hospice’s Accumulator Challenge.

In the build-up to Christmas, we announced that we would be one of 14 local businesses taking part in the challenge. Each participator was given an initial £50 which they had to use to raise as much money for charity as possible.

Over the festive period, The Royal Cambridge Hotel had bucket collections at all Christmas lunches, parties and around the hotel that generated £400 towards the cause.

Stewart Rushton, General Manager of The Royal Cambridge Hotel, said: “We always try and do our bit for local charities and it’s pleasing to contribute to such a worthy cause.

“This is not the first fundraising event we have done with the Arthur Rank Hospice. The Bridge the Gap walk last year was fantastic for the local community and a privilege to be a part of. We’ll definitely be continuing our relationship with them and helping to raise more money this year.”

The Arthur Rank Hospice supports people in Cambridge who live with a life-limiting illness and they deliver care services free of charge. The charity needs to raise in excess of £7 million each year to continue to deliver these services free of charge to patients and their families.
