It’s that time of year again… the summer holidays. Yes, the roads are quieter, but you’ve got to find things to do, places to go and new ways to entertain the kids.

Well, we’re offering a helping hand with this handy guide of fun and kid-friendly things to do in Cambridge.

Cambridge Treasure Hunt Trail

Such a beautiful city, there’s no better way to Cambridge than on foot. Well, now you can add even more fun with a Treasure Hunt.

Choose from one of five self-guided tour that require you to look closely around the city and at the stunning buildings to solve clues and find the treasure at the end.

All you need to do is visit the Treasure Trails website and buy the book – either download it or get it sent in the post and the adventure begins.

Escape Rooms

Escape RoomGetting locked in a room doesn’t sound like a barrel of laughs, granted. But if you’ve never been to an escape room, you’re totally missing out.

The fact that number one, two and four on the list of ‘fun things to do in Cambridge’ according to users of TripAdvisor suggests they’re more fun than they sound.

Work as a team, solves clues and make your escape – it sounds easy, right? Find out for yourself. There’s a handful in Cambridge, but we’d recommend the Cambridge Escape Rooms or the LockHouse Escape Rooms.

Jesus Green Lido

It’s not often you can swim outdoors in the UK, so make the most of it while you can.

It’s one of only a few Lidos in the country and dates back to 1923. Don’t worry the facilities have been improved since then with the latest addition being a sauna.

Whether it’s sunbathing, swimming or one of the many activities they run, it’s sure to be a great day out… weather permitting!

Clip n Climb

Clip n ClimbIt pretty much does exactly what it says on the tin… Clip yourself on and climb.

This fun-packed activity is equally safe as it is exciting. No climbing experience is necessary, equipment is provided and full training is given. And with 20 unique climbing challenges, there’s something for children as young as four or adults as young as they feel.

Prices start from just £12.50 so it’s also more affordable then you thought.

To find out more or to book tickets, visit the Clip n Climb Cambridge website.

Cherry Hinton Water Play Area

This is one for the younger kids, but I’m sure you adults will have a great time too, watching the kids enjoying themselves while relaxing in the sun.

Located in the beautiful grounds of grounds of Cherry Hinton Hal, you’ll find two small paddling that’ll keep the kids entertained for hours.

Also located in the grounds are tennis courts, so if Wimbledon inspired you, this is definitely the place for you.
