The Royal Cambridge Hotel has raised £132 for charity following a successful Macmillan Coffee Morning, held at the hotel on Friday 28 September.
Every year cancer support charity, Macmillan, encourage venues all over the country to take part and create the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning. With many local residents joining hotel guests and staff for a coffee and a cake, the hugely-popular charity event was a great success.
Stewart Rushton, General Manager of The Royal Cambridge Hotel said: “It was great to see so many people joining us at the hotel in raising money for an extremely worthwhile cause. We significantly beat last year’s total, which is obviously very pleasing.”
Macmillan are aiming to exceed last year’s national fundraising total of £27 million and add to a figure in excess of £200 million raised since the first coffee morning back in 1990.
The next charity fundraiser for The Royal Cambridge Hotel is already underway with the recent announcement that the hotel will once again be taking part in the Arthur Rank Hospice’s Accumulator Challenge.
Stewart added: “As a business, we’re always trying to do our little bit for charity – whether it’s national like this one for Macmillan, or local like our next one with the Arthur Rank Hospice.”
